COVID-19 TESTING FOR ANTIBODIES

SERVICE DESCRIPTION:Testing for antibodies detects the presence of immunoglobulin M (IgM) and immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies in response to the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2. This is for people to determine if the antibody is in their blood. A positive antibody test does not necessarily mean you are immune from COVID-19. What it means is that at some point, your body has formed antibodies to fight COVID. This could be through having COVID or by being vaccinated. When a Rapid COVID test checks for antibodies, the person must have had COVID in their system long enough to have formed antibodies in order for the test to be accurate. This can take up to 5 days from time of exposure.
