Provides compensation for out-of-pocket expenses incurred as a direct result of the criminal acts of other persons. Examples of economic losses covered under the law are: medical care, dental care, funeral expenses, work loss, income loss, and counseling. The law does not cover property losses or damage. Cooperates with police and District Attorney. Crime must be reported within 72 hours and claim must be filed within 30 days.
