CIVIL RIGHTS ENFORCEMENT UNIT

Receives and investigates complaints of discrimination in employment and public accommodation based on a person's race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability and age; and investigates complaints of discrimination in housing based on a person's race, color, sex, national origin, disability, familial status and age; the agency also receives complaints of racial profiling based on a person's belief that they were stopped or arrested based on their racial or ethnic status and then the complaint is sent to the employing law enforcement agency for investigation. The agency also provides technical services to interested groups, persons and employers in an effort to eliminate discriminatory practices.
